(F) layers of the ionosphere (energetic air) above us disappear at sunset, and re-appear at sun rise. Ultraviolet and cosmic rays from the sun, as they arrive in our atmosphere, create energetic air. Galactic cosmic rays are another source of power that energizes the air.
